IBC Johor Event

JOHOR – Tuesday, 4 February 2020 – A total of 112 members from 94 cooperatives in the state of Johor attended IBC Assets Berhad (IBC)’s Outreach Program “Kenali Pelaburan Patuh Syariah”.

The objectives of the program were to share and educate members of cooperatives on Shariah-compliant investments and the 7 Steps for Smart Investors.  The program was organized with the supports from the Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia (SKM) Cawangan Negeri Johor.

The speakers from IBC management team, armed with years of experience and wealth of knowledge in the Malaysian financial and capital markets, shared on the various types of Shariah-compliant investments, how to recognize and avoid illegal investment schemes, and steps to be taken by investors before investing.

Cooperatives are required to obtain the approval from SKM before making any investment.  Cik Puan Nor Izati Md Isa, Assistant Director of the Registration and Statutory Division of SKM, presented on the process and requirements relating to SKM’s approval for investment application submitted by cooperatives.

It was an enjoyable and meaningful event. The participants now understand more about the various types of investments available in the capital market, including risks and returns associated with such investments.   They were also more aware of the SKM’s requirements and expectation, as well as the steps to be undertaken in reviewing an investment proposal before making the investment decision.
